Updates for December 2025
Happy Holidays lovely rescuers! We have a few updates this month.
- We are adjusting our office hours timing especially as we head into winter break. The last office hour time of 2025 is December 17 at 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm. After that we will come back in January. Stay tuned for new office hours.
- We are eagerly looking forward to the report from the American Statistical Association's federal statistics health project called "The Nation's Data at Risk: 2025". The report updates the team's 2024 assessment of the health of the federal statistical agencies. The team will publish the 2025 report at 7 a.m on this webpage on December 10 and they are holding a webinar that day! Register today: https://lnkd.in/eCBXXKYN. We wrote a post discussing some key highlights from the earlier reports if you are interested in learning more.
- There are several strategic planning initiatives happening in the community around the protection of federal data. One of those is the Center for Open Science's project on Ensuring the Preservation, Accessibility, and Usability of Public Data. We are happy to lend our perspectives to this initiative and will share more information with the community as it becomes available.
- In January our Steering Committee members will in Philadelphia to do some strategic planning around the Data Rescue Project. It will be the first time some of us have met in person! As we are coming up on our year anniversary as an organization, we thought it would be a good time to meet and plan for what's to come. We will share out information with the group after the meeting. It's hard to believe it's been almost a year– and what a year it's been!
