Today we want to highlight the completed rescue of the data behind the CDC’s AtlasPlus by DRP volunteer @louisc! AtlasPlus is an interactive dashboard from the National Center for HIV, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and Tuberculosis Prevention, meant to support researchers in creating customized tables, maps, and charts. This essential tool contains more than 20 years of data that allows researchers to view the data on each disease in comparison with social and economic data. However, like most dashboards and interactive tools, the underlying data were difficult to reach individually.

Thanks to the dedication of @louisc, there are more than 3,100 files from AtlasPlus that are now more accessible and usable. This required complicated web scraping (and a whole lot of determination!), and the scripts used to collect the data have also been freely shared. View the data in DataLumos, check out the Data Rescue Portal entry, and then take a moment to celebrate our amazing volunteers!
