Help Protect At-Risk Humanitarian Archives
In late 2025, members of the DRP Steering Committee traveled to the University of Manchester, UK, to attend the launch of the Humanitarian Archive Emergency (HAE) Project. As we have seen in the US over the past 15 months, digital archives, records, and datasets linked to humanitarian action and global health are increasingly at risk due to funding cuts and infrastructure gaps. As active members in the space, Lynda Kellam has been invited to represent the DRP on the HAE Steering Committee. Kellam praised this effort, noting the DRP’s excitement to be involved: “We know that we cannot do this work alone and recognize the vital importance of partnerships across communities and areas of expertise. We look forward to the role we can play in this effort to save essential records at risk in the humanitarian community.”
For their work, HAE is collating information on what’s at risk and welcomes your input. Nominate an archive, record, or dataset via this short (anonymous) form. Your response will help strengthen efforts to protect vital humanitarian knowledge.
