Call to action: Preservation of Government Information

Following the 2026 Information Stewardship Forum hosted by Internet Archive, there is a new call to action available for your review and support. James R. Jacobs, along with others who provided feedback on the document, drafted a concise statement articulating the current situation and potential future preservation efforts. Signatories agree to support the creation of a cooperative digital preservation infrastructure to steward public data and information and to advocate for an essential update to U.S. information policy. Members of the DRP attended the forum, helped to revise the statement, and endorsed this call to action.
