Open for Community Comment: Coalition for Resilient Research Data Infrastructure (CRRDI) Strategic Plan
The DRP Steering Committee is excited about the release of the draft Strategic Plan of the Coalition for Resilient Research Data Infrastructure (CRRDI). DRP Director Lynda Kellam has been working with a committee of experts organized by the Center for Open Science (COS) to develop a strategic plan that promotes and supports resilient infrastructures for federally funded scientific data. This draft plan is the culmination of that effort and is available for community comment.
The plan is organized around three pillars:
- Assess and monitor the repository landscape. Building shared, community-led frameworks and tools to understand where the repository ecosystem and the underlying infrastructures are most vulnerable and how those risks change over time.
- Develop diverse, sustained funding and governance. Coordinating investment more efficiently and building the funding models and structures that let repositories endure.
- Develop a shared outreach, advocacy, and action strategy. Equipping the community to make the case for sustained investment and to respond when data is at risk.
We encourage you to read through the draft and let us know your thoughts by September 30. We want to know whether these strategies are feasible and meet the community’s needs. We’d also like to invite others to join this coalition.
