Humanitarian Archive Emergency Coalition: Get Involved Remotely!
The DRP has been pleased to be part of a growing coalition concerned about the future of humanitarian archives amid challenges to foreign aid funding.
In response to these concerns, a Steering Committee from around the world was convened by researchers at the University of Manchester’s Humanitarian and Conflict Response Institute and launched as the Humanitarian Archive Emergency Coalition. In addition to creating a Registry to document at-risk archives, the HAE has created a Digital Archiving Toolkit, a Landscape Report, and more.
They’ve also been running five in-person regional workshops around the world to gather feedback from practitioners, archivists, researchers, and custodians. They will be conducting several online workshops at the end of the month and welcome more participation. Join one of three online workshops (2 hours each) based on your preferred language and time zone:
- English – Tuesday 29 September, 12:00 CET (10:00 UTC)
- French – Wednesday 30 September, 16:00 CET (14:00 UTC / 10:00 Port-au-Prince)
- Spanish – Thursday 1 October, 10:00 EST (14:00 UTC / 09:00 Panama)
